HOLY TERROR Schedule First Show In 16 Years
February 25, 2006Reformed Seattle-based speed metal band HOLY TERROR will play their first show in 16 years on March 11 at El Corazon (109 Eastlake Ave.) in Seattle. This will mark the band's debut live performance with new vocalist Chris Tretton (MIDNIGHT IDOLS) and it will be the only HOLY TERROR gig before bassist Jeff Matz (also in ZEKE) joins HIGH ON FIRE. Also appearing on the bill are HELL BOUND FOR GLORY (Mark from ZEKE's new band) and GO LIKE HELL. HOLY TERROR guitarist Kurt Colfelt (a.k.a. Kurt Kilfelt; ex-AGENT STEEL) will then go on tour in Japan and Australia playing bass for ZEKE.
HOLY TERROR plan to record some new material in May with original bass player Floyd Flanary. A merchandise deal has also been signed with Plastichead UK. "[They] will make available two shirt designs for our friends in Europe," says Colfelt. "One shirt is the classic snake and cross the other will have bones logo from the old records on it . We hope to have shirts available through the web site in the near future for America."
As previously reported, HOLY TERROR have set "Stillborn" as the title of their upcoming CD box set, tentatively due in the fall on Candlelight Records. The set will feature never-before-heard remixes, outtakes, live stuff and video footage.
In addition to Colfelt and Matz, the group's current lineup includes Joe Mitchell (drums) and Matt Fox (guitar, ex-BITTER END).
HOLY TERROR were formed in the mid-1980s by Kilfelt and ex-DARK ANGEL drummer Jack Schwarz, who left before the release of the band's first album, 1987's "Terror and Submission". A follow-up effort, "Mind Wars", was issued in 1988.
